Prospective Student Info
- Our film program is fun and challenging
- You will take a look at the world through the eyes of a camera
- You will explore that world by studying the geniuses of the craft and by your own exploration
- With examples and knowledge, you will then tell your own stories or the stories of your classmates
- We provide and teach you how to use equipment and programs for you to make your film look as professional as possible
- We are a sixth subject test area in the IB program with test scores consistently above the international average
- We are a part of the Middle Years Program as International Honors Film 1 and 2 can be taken instead of Design Class 9th and 10th
- International Honors Film 2 is a dual credit course
- We are a part of the Academy of Fine Arts Program
- You can earn a letter jacket or patch for your participation
- You will be able to submit your films to local and international film festivals
- Create films for contests and possibly win monies that will help you in college
- Apply for the Reel Owl Cinema Booster scholarship given to Senior student(s).

OUR CURRICULUM
Our curriculum is based off of a combination of syllabus and guidance shared by the staff of the Southern Methodist University Film Department. At the time of inception of our program, Rick Worland, was the Chair of the Film and Media Studies at SMU. When we consulted him regarding creating a curriculum for the program, he not only provided invaluable information and guidance, he also graciously provided syllabus of their classes, recommended books and ask other people in the department to do the same. We will be forever in his and the faculty debt for helping us create our award winning program.
